The Goby Toothbrush Expert Review

The Goby Toothbrush is a direct to consumer toothbrush.

So why is it called the Goby toothbrush?

Goby gets its name from the neon goby, a species of fish that serves larger fish by dining on what lives in their mouths and keeping them effortlessly healthy — the perfect symbiotic relationship. Pretty cool, huh?

Why the Goby?

Since our patients find many electric toothbrushes to be cost prohibitive we have had success recommending these direct versions very successfully.

At just about every dental hygiene appointment I am amazed by how many patients do not change their brush heads! Any toothbrush, including the Goby Toothbrush should be changed out regularly.  Many people say they forget, and some honestly say they try to stretch out the time interval due to the cost of the brush heads.

Slightly more expensive than the BURST, the Goby toothbrush is still a fraction of the cost of many other electric toothbrushes on the market. It has a design similar to the Oral-B that is familiar to many people.

It consists of a small, round brush head that oscillates (rotates) back and forth.  There is a single button to turn the toothbrush on and off and to change the setting from standard to sensitive.

Like almost all of the electrics, the brush alerts the brusher to move on to another quadrant every 30 seconds and automatically shuts off after two minutes.

The brush handle has a sleek, easily gripped design that is available in a wide variety of colors. As of this review the Goby toothbrush colors available are:

Classic –  Tangerine for $65 with the brush head subscription ($6)

Monochrome –  Black, Rose and Glacier (white) $75

Limited Edition – Artist Will Bryant $75

       Metallic – Gold for $95

If you click below you can save 20% when you subscribe to get the brush heads delivered automatically.

You will get an additional 10% if you buy two!

As you can see the price break hinges on signing up for the brush head subscription.  This isn’t a bad thing because at $6 the heads are cheaper than the ones you buy in the store and you don’t have to remember to go get them.  They show up right at your mailbox!

What does it include?

The Goby toothbrush has a charging unit that is small and easy to clean. It can be used with a standard wall plug or USB. The battery life is impressive.

The Goby electric toothbrush has held a charge for three weeks, brushing twice a day without recharging!  Pretty good and long enough to last most vacations or business trips.  Even so, the charging stand separates so that you can bring the small, magnetic charging portion with you on your travels if you prefer.  A very nice feature.

Goby offers multiple brush head purchasing options.  There is single purchase option and a one-, two-, or three-month subscription option for head replacements. A new brush head arrives in your mailbox automatically—so no more forgetting to change toothbrush heads!
