Short answer: Yes — Goby has closed. Co-founder and General Manager Benjamin Goldberg confirmed on LinkedIn that the company “closed the chapter” on its direct-to-consumer toothbrush business, and Goby is no longer manufacturing products or shipping replacement heads. If you own a Goby handle, it’s time to plan your next toothbrush.
What happened to Goby
We originally reviewed the Goby toothbrush here as an affordable, direct-to-consumer alternative to the big legacy brands. That’s no longer accurate: Goby has ceased active operations. The company may still technically appear “alive” in some corporate registries, but it isn’t manufacturing new units, fulfilling orders, or shipping the subscription brush heads that made it a reasonable option in the first place.
What this means if you already own a Goby
Without an active supply chain, official Goby replacement heads are no longer available directly from the company. Once your current stock of heads runs out, there’s no restocking it from the source — you’ll need to switch to a different electric toothbrush.
Where Goby owners are landing
We get it — Goby’s whole appeal was the same thing that got us into BURST: a real electric toothbrush without the flagship price tag. If that’s what you were after, BURST is the closest match we’ve found, and it’s still an active company with real customer support and a real subscription replacement-head program (so you won’t end up back here in a few years). As a BURST Ambassador, code ZNZXWM gets you 25% off at checkout. Disclosure: we earn a commission when you use it.
